The Best Blades! 2010-07-28 |
| By LakeKids (Paso Robles,CA USA) |
| This is a great way to get several much needed blades at a good price! Just like Milwaukee owns Sawzalls, they also make the best blades, in my opinion. I was surprised at what a smooth cut the 9" Axe blade made when cutting off a beam end-I know it's primarily a demo blade, but it sure made a nice cut! Now I just wish there was enough room in the Sawzall case to put this blade set!! |
Super Saw 2010-07-20 |

In my opinion and many others, this brand is the best.
I've used Milwaukee tools in industry and know they are the longest lasting best built tools available. |
Great Assortment 2010-07-12 |

| This assortment of blades offers an excellent value for the price. Whatever you need to cut, these blades combined with a Milwaukee recip saw will get the job done. |
Great value @ $25, but not the Milwaukee Torch I've bought before 2010-07-02 |
| By Chris Taglia (Madison Wisconsin) |
Take this review with a grain of salt, all conditions may not be equal in my comparisons (in general, my sawzall at home is running at a higher rpm than what we use at work - both Milwaukees, different models - which I started to think about as I was concluding this review, and decided to bump stars back up to 4).
I've spent 4 years in the construction business and have many hours under my belt working with sawzalls, an indispensable tool for remodeling projects. At work, we usually use cheaper blades because it's more cost effective to change out worn blades than buy expensive blades which might get lost in an attic or a secluded crawlspace while it still has most of its life left in it - or risk employees stealing them, I'm not entirely sure why.
At home, I pay more for the expensive blades. I have not yet used the wood blades, but I have already burned through 2 of the 6" Torch blades cutting through a total of about 1-1.5" of steel each. These are comparable to the cheaper blades my boss buys.... but still a good value, not the steal I thought I was getting.
A few years ago I bought a 5 pack of 9" Milwaukee Torch blades for around $25 from Home Depot... if they're the same, this is it: [...] - Well worth it. These blades cut through many feet worth of old steel radiator pipe, cast, steel 5/8" rebar, without a sweat. These are made of superior metal, the best indication of which is the lack of discoloration when hot from a heavy work load (the blades I'm reviewing were discolored after maybe 20 seconds of use).
These are NOT the same as the "Super Sawzall Torch" blades I bought from Home Depot - the blades themselves or the packaging bear no indication of any difference. Maybe I should have paid attention to the keyword "super." I take 2 points off for that reason, I'd have preferred to pay for quality over quantity. I love Milwaukee tools because they take a beating like no other; wish I could say the same about their tool accessories (and their newer 4v lithium ion portable screwdrivers - the electrician's best friend. My coworker and I prefer the older nicads, for several reasons... but that's another review.....) |
Thick-Paint Blades 2010-04-26 |
| By J. Love (Kansas) |
I like the plastic case they come with, it fits in the case for the 11-Amp sawzall I purchased at the same time (I've been using an old B&D recip saw and a myriad of different branded blades) I feel so organized now ;-). I found it cheaper to buy a large set of blades than 1@a time from the local hardware store. Only complaint I have is that these blades are a little on the thick side (they appear a tad thicker than others) when inserting or removing them from my new sawzall. I'm hoping that with use the sawzall will loosen up, but initially these blades are a little stubborn about going in or coming out of the sawzall (11-amp) with the quick-change coupler. I can't comment on if other blades go in easier 'cause I've alread given away the old saw and blades to my dad.
