Flip a Coin
Flip a virtual coin once or run a batch of flips.
Tool guide
About Coin Flip
Generate one or more heads-or-tails results for a quick random choice or game. The tool uses browser-side randomness for casual use; it is not a certified random source for security or research.
How to use this tool
- 1Set how many flips you want, within the displayed limit.
- 2Choose Flip and review each result or the count of heads and tails.
- 3Repeat the draw if you want another independent set of casual results.
How the tool works
The page uses the browser's random number function to select a side for each flip. For multiple flips it records individual outcomes and counts heads and tails. The simulation does not model a physical coin's weight, toss, or landing conditions.
Worked real-world example
For ten simulated flips, the results might show six heads and four tails; a small sample need not be exactly even.
Common scenarios and use cases
Make a casual choice, demonstrate probability, or run a quick classroom example.
Important details and limitations
A random result is not a prediction of a real coin or a guarantee of equal counts in a short run. Do not use this for cryptographic keys, gambling fairness certification, or consequential decisions.
Check the output unit as well as the number. If the result will be reused in another calculation, retain full precision where possible and round only at the end. For measurements governed by a technical specification, use the standard and tolerance required by that document.
Frequently asked questions
Is the result guaranteed to be half heads?
No. Random samples can be uneven.
Can I flip several times at once?
Yes, use the count control within its limit.
Is it suitable for security randomness?
No. Use a cryptographic random generator for security work.
