Test your screen's multitouch capabilities. Run the browser-based check and follow its prompts to review the result.
Use a touch screen to test multiple simultaneous contacts. Desktop pointer events can also be used for a basic check.
Tool guide
About Multitouch Tester
Show touch points that the browser reports on a touchscreen. The visible count is limited by the device, browser, and page input events, so it may not match every hardware capability.
How to use this tool
- 1Open the page on a touchscreen device.
- 2Touch the test area with one finger, then add more fingers if you want to check simultaneous contacts.
- 3Observe the points and release all fingers before leaving the page.
How the tool works
The tool reads browser pointer or touch events and renders the active contact positions in the test area. Browser gesture handling, screen edges, and device drivers may limit which contacts are exposed.
Worked real-world example
If three separate points appear while three fingers are down, the browser has reported those three contacts to the page.
Common scenarios and use cases
Check basic multi-finger input response or explore how a browser reports touch positions.
Important details and limitations
The test cannot certify the device's advertised maximum touch points or pressure sensitivity. Avoid gestures that may trigger system navigation, and do not press hard on the screen.
Check the output unit as well as the number. If the result will be reused in another calculation, retain full precision where possible and round only at the end. For measurements governed by a technical specification, use the standard and tolerance required by that document.
Frequently asked questions
Why do fewer points appear than fingers?
The device or browser may limit reported touch contacts.
Can it test pressure sensitivity?
No, it focuses on positions and contact events.
Will it work on a mouse-only computer?
No, it needs touch input for a multitouch check.
